Toolmetrics Engineers manufactures wear-resistant guides, strips and rollers for conveying and handling systems, produced to customer drawings from Hyderabad. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, and these are components designed to wear in place of the equipment around them.

Components designed to be consumed

Wear, abrasion and continuous duty define this work. A chain guide rail or a wear strip exists to take abrasion off the machine frame and be replaced on service — the part is consumable by design, and that changes what a good one looks like. It should wear predictably, run without lubrication, and come off and on quickly when its turn comes.

This is the opposite of how a precision turned part is judged. On a shaft the goal is that nothing changes; on a wear strip the goal is that the right thing changes, in the right place, at a rate the maintenance schedule can plan around.

Continuous duty is what makes the difference matter. A handling system runs its guides and rollers against the same product and the same chain for entire shifts without pause, so a marginal material choice does not fail dramatically — it just brings the next changeover forward by weeks.

Chain guides, wear strips and guide blocks

Chain guide rails and wear strips are produced to drawing in UHMWPE, in green and natural. UHMWPE earns its place here because it runs without lubrication, does not corrode, and wears slowly against a steel chain partner — and because it can be cut to a specific track profile and hole pattern rather than only to a standard section.

Guide and wear blocks do the same job in a smaller package. A block steers moving product or chain along a defined track while sacrificing its own surface instead of the machine’s, injection-moulded in nylon PA6 with a radiused track surface and mounting holes. PA6 combines wear resistance with quiet running against steel, which is the reason it displaces metal guides in conveying equipment.

On both, the mounting-hole positions and the track form are the critical features. Get them right and a worn part is replaced without touching the frame; get them wrong and every changeover becomes a fitting job on stopped equipment.

Rollers and drive components

Polymer rollers carry, guide and tension product and belts — grooved profiles where belts or cords must track, flat profiles where product rides directly. Against steel rollers, moulded polymer offers corrosion-free running, lower noise and less damage to the product surface it touches.

Bore and groove geometry are the critical features: the bore decides how the roller mounts and runs, and the groove decides how the belt or cord tracks. A roller that mounts perfectly but lets a belt wander is not doing its job.

Where the system is driven by polymer gearing, nylon and acetal gears, sprockets and star wheels transmit power without the lubrication, noise or corrosion metal gearing would bring. The keyed bore must fit your shaft and the tooth form must mesh with the existing drive.

Replacement and repeat supply

We manufacture strictly to your released drawing. Material is verified before machining begins, the first component of each batch is checked against the critical dimensions, in-process checks run through the batch, and finished components are verified to the drawing before packing under batch identification.

Almost all of this is replacement work, because that is what consumable parts generate. The component being replaced was made to a profile and a hole pattern the surrounding machine still has, so those two things decide whether a new part fits or has to be worked on the line.

If you are replacing an existing rail, strip, block or roller and have no drawing, a sample with dimensions and photographs is a workable starting point. Batch references mean an approved part is re-produced to the same revision the next time it is ordered.

What material handling parts do you manufacture?

Can you match our existing rail profile and hole pattern?
Yes. The mounting-hole positions and the track form are treated as critical features and verified against your drawing or the sample being replaced, so a changeover does not become a fitting job.
Are UHMWPE parts moulded or machined?
Machined to drawing from sheet or rod. UHMWPE does not flow like a conventional thermoplastic, so it is cut rather than moulded — nylon, HDPE, acetal, PP and ABS parts are injection moulded.
Can you supply these parts without a drawing?
Usually yes. A sample with dimensions and photographs is a workable starting point — we confirm the profile, the material and the mounting features before producing anything.
